Katica Illényi Buenos Aires
 
We are happy to announce Ms Katica Illényi’s concert in Buenos Aires, on 5th of October, Centro Cultural de Mayo, 2 pm.  
 
It's based onthe Buenos Aires and Budapest sister cities agreement, supported by the governments of Budapest and Buenos Aires,  the Hungarian Embassy in Buenos Aires and the Argentine Embassy in Budapest.
 
Katica Illényi  - Artisjus, Liszt and award winning violinist and theremin artist, member of the Hungarian Academy of Arts and Artist of Merit of Hungary. She comes from a classical music family. Her father Ferenc Illényi (1935-2007) - her first teacher - played in the Hungarian State Opera House. At the age of 14 she was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest to the class of “Special Talents”. She’s one of the best theremin player world wide. 

On her concerts gems of classical music and movie soundtracks, tangos can be heard. Next to Csajkovszkij, Paganini, Dvořák, Gershwin, Morricone, Piazzola, Michel Legrand, John Williams. Hungarian composers like Bartók, Kodály Zoltán, Liszt Ferenc, Weiner Leó pieces are played also. Her performances build a bridge between the different cultures and countries.

She has more than 2,2 million views on her YouTube Channels from Argentina and more than 8,5 million from South America.
She has a very closely friend in Buenos Aires, Saul Cosentino, who is a well- known composer. Saul Cosentino was one of the best friend of Astor Piazzolla.  Katica Illényi sings & plays violin some pieces was composed by of Saul Cosentino beside A. Piazzolla and others.
