Katica Illényi – Jubilee Concert


Artist of Merit of Hungary, Franz Liszt prize awarded violinist, member of the Hungarian Arts Academy, the only Hungarian performer who plays theremin – gave her Jubilee concert at the Congress Center on 17th of February, 2018.

Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán greeted her before the concert.


Special guests: Anikó Illényi, first cellist of the Winterthur Musikkollegium and  Csaba Illényi, violinist has got his degree in Vienna.
Conducted by István Silló, Music Director of the National Theater in Győr, Hungary.

It was a special day, Katica Illényi celebrated her birthday and the 25th anniversary of her career on that day. Another specialty of this day is that fantastic performers was invited, who have wonderful artistic experience with their professional knowledge and their popularity as Anima Musicae Chamber Orchestra and Péter Sárik & his band.


Pieces of national composers, classical music in authentic form, violin, piano and theremin, tango and the light and jazz music, national and world famous music was all part of the colorful program. J. S. Bach, A. Piazzolla, V. Cosma, Péter Máté, C. Parker, M. Rózsa……
The aim of Katica Illényi  is to resupply the classical music audience, to present Hungarian composers and to contribute to the society’s musical education through classical music.
